Liberation of Undermine brings fresh challenges and encounters to World of Warcraft: The War Within, and choosing the right tank is more important than ever. This tier list breaks down how each tank spec stacks up in the current meta, helping you decide which class will be leading the charge.

Whether you’re pushing Mythic progression or just trying to survive Heroic pugs, choosing the right tank spec can make or break your raid night.

Players who want to complete the raid without minding which class to go with can benefit from the Liberation of Undermine boost services and claim their rewards.

In this blog post, you will find a detailed Liberation of Undermine Tank Tier List based on performance metrics, raid utility, and popularity across thousands of parses.

Liberation of Undermine Tank Tier List

Liberation of Undermine

S Tier

S tier consists of the tanks that perform the best against every single boss in the raid. These tank specs offer the top survivability for a prolonged boss fight, along with great damage and utility. If you want easy Liberation of Undermine carry, picking these tank specs will be your go-to options.

Blood Death Knight

Blood Death Knight is the top pick among the tanks in the raid. Since BDK’s hero talents were adjusted to give the spec itself more identity, its single-target damage increased significantly. The primary mechanic of BDK revolves around the class taking damage while healing a significant portion of it. In most situations, the damage is taken instantly. This consistent, unconditional self-sustain makes Blood DK the leading choice when it comes to tanking raid bosses.

The healing of BDK is extremely high, and it can survive a boss encounter completely on its own with proper cooldown management. Blood Death Knight also has great mob control spells like ‘’Death Grip’’, and it even has access to mass grip, which is mandatory in some boss fights. The only downside of the class is that it does not provide any raid buffs. Overall, Blood Death Knight will be the best choice when it comes to raid tanking and Liberation of Undermine boosting.

A Tier

Tanks in this tier are above average and have good enough survivability, damage, and utility that can be useful for the raid. It is common to see these specs in top-tier raid compositions.

Protection Warrior

Protection Warrior is a superior choice for a raid tank. Its physical mitigation is unmatched, making most boss fights easy because of how little damage it takes. It requires constant healing, though, because it lacks some self-sustain mechanics, but it will be rare to see a Prot Warrior die in a boss fight.

The damage of PWarrior is the best compared to other tanks, and it can even outperform some DPS specs in certain situations. In terms of utility, Protection Warriors have ‘’Battle Shout”, an excellent raid buff that all of the Warrior specs can use. Overall, Prot Warrior is a solid choice, and it can even be used as a Liberation of Undermine Carry.

Protection Paladin

Protection Paladin is a bit squishier than the rest of the tank roster, but it is still tanky enough to survive every boss fight in the raid. One of the most important reasons why the best raid compositions bring Prot Paladin is because of its unmatched versatile utility. Passive damage reduction from ‘’Devotion Aura’’ is one of the best buffs you can have for clearing a raid.

Spells like ‘’Blessing of Sacrifice’’ and ‘’Blessing of Spellwarding’’ can completely negate some boss mechanics. Prot Paladin also has amazing single-target and AOE damage, making it competitive with Prot Warrior for the top spot among the tanks in terms of damage.

B Tier

B-tier tanks can survive most of the encounters in the raid and are perfectly viable if played correctly. However, they lack key elements—such as damage or utility—that prevent them from being competitive with higher-ranked tanks. While they can get the job done, they typically require more effort or group support to perform at the same level as higher-level Tanks in World of Warcraft.

Vengeance Demon Hunter

Vengeance Demon Hunter had the potential to be the top tank for timing Mythic+ this season. Yet, it seems to struggle a bit when it comes to raid clears. It is still pretty durable in its Metamorphosis form. However, outside of it, it is pretty squishy if it does not receive any external cooldown. Its damage is good, but in terms of utility, except for ‘’Chaos Brand’’, it falls short.

Brewmaster Monk

Brewmaster Monk is often a strong choice for raid progression. However, its spec design can make it more challenging to handle certain Mythic—and even some Heroic—raid encounters. Its damage is lower than most of the tanks, and its durability is also not very promising.

The biggest upside is that it can not be one-shot by some hard-hitting Tank Busters, but it requires constant healing attention to stay alive. Brewmaster Monk’s utility is also somewhat limited, which prevents it from being placed in a higher tier.

C Tier

Tanks C tier have an issue with a crucial part of their kit. They lack either a lot of damage or are too squishy to reliably survive any encounter without dedicating every external cooldown to them. They can still clear high-end raid bosses, but it will take a lot of effort and class knowledge to be played efficiently.

Guardian Druid

Guardian Druids have the most Armor and Health among all the tanks, yet it does not possess many tools to mitigate damage. GD needs healing incoming constantly, making them vulnerable to high and consistent damage if they are out of cooldowns. Another drawback for Guardian Druid is that it has to choose between a single-target and an AOE damage build, and eventually swap between each fight to be as efficient as possible.

It has access to ‘’Mark of the Wild’’ which is the best raid buff in the game, but with how good Balance and Restoration Druids are, it’s rare to see Guardian Druid in a raid. All of these drawbacks put Guardian Druid as the only tank in C tier, and it will require some type of Liberation of Undermine boosting service to be able to clear the hardest raid bosses.

Final Thoughts

The tank meta in Liberation of Undermine is more balanced than in previous expansions. Still, clear standouts like Protection Paladin, Colossus Warrior, and Fel-scarred Demon Hunter dominate the top tier. These specs offer the best mix of survivability, damage, and utility, making them ideal for progression raiding.
