YouTube announces new audio features
YouTube is a global online video and social media platform that is owned by Google. It was launched by Steve Chan, Javed Karim and Chad Hurley in February 2005. It was sold to Google in November 2016. This platform was created to share live videos with family, friends, and with the world to view other’s content without any restriction.

YouTube is the world second most visited site on the web, along with 6 billion watch time of videos every month. To gain more audiences, YouTube experiences to add new features to engage the users more accurately. In this way, not only does YouTube get benefits, but the content creators will also get more viewers on their YouTube videos.
Last week, YouTube official sources reveal that YouTube new audio features and live stream auto track will be added in the coming months.
- “Creators can now enable live auto-captions for live streams in English to make streams more broad and accessible,”YouTube said in its statement.
Earlier this feature was only available to channel with 1000+ subscribers, But now this requirement has been removed by the company. Beginners will be able to use this feature after a short period.
Live Auto-Captions in Multiple Languages
YouTube intends to aim to enhance video accessibility by expanding live auto-captions to all 13 supported captioning languages in the coming months. These supported languages include; Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
- YouTube’s new features under the tag ofaudio track, the company is also currently testing the capacity to add multiple audio tracks on videos to help offer multi-language audio for international audiences and for people who have vision impairments. The latest audio feature is now available to a small group of content creators.

- Auto translations for captions are currently available only in the desktop version. This feature will be launched in supported language will be added to android and IOS devices later in this year.
Transcript Search in the Search Bar
YouTube will also add a new feature of transcript search in the search bar. By using this filter users will be able to search the specific transcript of the caption in video which he was searching. The user’s transcript search will be matched with captions of the video and he’ll proceed to the most accurate result. YouTube will experiment with the option to type in the search bar at the top of the transcript to find specific keywords. This will be easier for the users to find the specific and most accurate video according to his search.
- One of the coming audio features that YouTube is working on is the new YouTube Studio channel permissions, which will allow creators to delegate subtitles and captions for their videos to someone they trust. The company has previously announced this feature under the title “Subtitle Editor” and has confirmed that it will take longer than expected to launch this audio feature.
