So here are the 10 essential tips and tricks to make the most of using a laptop.

1 Secret Start Menu

You can always (sort of) get it if you’re a fan of the old-school Start menu experience. Right-click the Windows icon in the bottom left corner to prompt a textual hop menu, including applications and functions, check and run.

The basic menu GUI provides all these options, but here you can easily navigate them. Additionally, for the Windows 10 taskbar, there’s a lot to play within. With right-click, you may easily navigate a collection of toolbar presets, Cortana, and window schemes on the Taskbar for a useful menu.

2 Show Desktop Button

The Display Desktop button for Windows 7 is a useful small feature. A hidden button is located in the lower right corner of the desktop.   Do you not see it? Look down on the right, after the date and time. A small sliver of an unseen icon can be found there. To limit all windows open at once, press it. You can also minimize the number of windows by clicking on the icon. In Settings > Personalization > Taskbar, pick the option to modify and then change the button to “Use peek to preview the desktop.”

3 Rotate Your Screen

This feature helps you to target a specific monitor to fit your needs when you have to use multiple displays. The easiest way to do this is to click and hold Ctrl + Alt together simultaneously, then to flip the screen with a directional arrow. Switch the computer 90 degrees with the right and left keys, while the down button would flip it upside down. To put the screen back to its usual location, use the up arrow.

These key commands work only on some pcs, so you have to go Settings > System> Display to set them up, or right-click on the desktop to pick the Settings for the display to get there quicker.  Pick an option “Display Orientation” on the drop-down menu from the menu to rotate the website in either direction.

4 Speed Up Your Laptop Start-up

If your Laptop slows down, enter the Task Manager and decrease the loading of programs. To see a list of all your services, press the “Startup” tab, and see if they are activated and what effect any of them is having on your startup time.

To delete it from your initialization, pick a program and press the “Disable” button. Check something with a medium or high effect, but concentrate on services you just don’t need. If you see an app that consumes more than just its fair share, it can be shut down by choosing “End task.” You should be mindful that if you do this, you can risk your job so save first if you are willing.

5 Find Missing or Corrupted Files

Understand this: cmd. It’s a command prompt that will help you locate files you need to function correctly on your Windows operating system. It will help you resolve issues as well. In the taskbar, type ‘cmd’ >> Right-click Command Prompt >> Pick Run As Administrator. Type “sfc /scannow.” to locate lost or damaged files. To look for disc issues, type “chkdsk /f.”

6 Game Bar

The game bar will be raised by pressing Windows (key) +G. This is not new, as it is a helpful method for taking screenshots and/or videos from your gaming clips in the OS. The latest update to the app is to stream games and game modes that will boost the gaming efficiency of your device even if your platform is resource-limited. You can also use the feature to capture video of some program if you don’t play on your laptop.

7 Microsoft Dynamic Lock

To safeguard your PC, you can use Dynamic Lock now. When you have a Bluetooth powered PC (or laptop) combined with your mobile, this is made possible. Wander away from your PC, and it will disable the machine itself. Simply get next to your system to unlock it. It is possible to access the function through: Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers, activate the function by choosing Settings>Account>Sign-in.

8 Night Light

Tired of trying to read through the night and see the doctors and see if you have eyes shot with blood? Yeah, it can be directly linked to your reading from your display all night long with a harsh light source. With a feature called Night Light, Windows 10 now takes care of this. To use this function, go to Settings>System>Display, the pane to the right should pop up. To fine-tuning your experience, then open the feature’s settings.

9 Enable Slide to Shutdown

This trick is complex and definitely not worth the effort for what you get out of it, but you can use it to slide your laptop to the off position. Right-click on the desktop and choose New > Shortcut. Paste the following code line in the resulting pop-up window: “%windir%\System32\SlideToShutDown.exe”.

10 Enable ‘God Mode’

You are a power user who needs keys to the nitty-gritty on your PC? “God mode” is for you. On the screen, right-click and pick New > Folder. With this piece of code, rename the new folder: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}. Double-click the folder to enter the ‘God Mode’ window and go crazy.
